Bernadette Harris has 22 years of management experience, both as an employee and as a consultant and is the author of 12 management books, including two on frontline management. She has assisted many organisations – public, private and not-for-profit with organisational reviews, strategic planning, management training, workplace assessment, problem solving and decision-making, as well as customer service.

Bernadette has designed and delivered many management training programs including those on conflict management, supervision, communication skills, merit selection and leadership to a range of agencies including: the NSW Ambulance Service; the NRMA Limited, the Samaritans, WEA Hunter Limited, the State Library of NSW, BORAL (CMG),NSW Department of Housing; NSW Office of Gaming and Racing; UNSW Equity and Diversity unit , Department of Commerce; the NSW Department of Education and Training; the NSW Rural Fire Service, the NSW Fire Brigades, NSW Premier’s Department and the NSW Parliamentary Counsel. In addition she designed an e-learning program for Westpac Banking Corporation.

She has 12 years experience as the CEO of a Non –Government Organisation (NGO) working in human services and running a training organisation including managing volunteers and working with a volunteer Board and has 13 years experience designing and delivering management programs particularly to the NGO and Public Sectors.

Through her work in the Public Sector with the Institute of Public Administration of Australia (NSW) and with Western Sydney Community Forum and other NGOs she has worked with diverse groups including those comprising Aboriginal women, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, or with a disability and those from regional areas. She has experience working with learners who require Auslan interpreters as well as other language interpreters.

Bernadette has written learning resources for TAFE NSW, including at least 10 modules of the Certificate IV in Community Management (1999), the Department of Commerce in Project Management, NSW Maritime – learning guides to support a completely workbased Certificate III in Government for Customer Service Officers, part of the Department of Juvenile Justice’s Operational Management Development Program for JJ Centre staff and the NSW Ombudsman’s Office –Investigations Skills Training Program.

Shane Waterton

Shane Waterton

B. Soc Studies (Hons); Grad. Dip. Adult Education Shane is a regularly used associate of Harris Bromly. Her areas of expertise include: substitute care of children and young people; child protection, child abuse, youth work, residential care, professional supervision of staff; managing case files; advocacy in community based organisations; OH&S working with individuals and groups.

Shane has developed TAFE Courses in Mental Health; Drug & Alcohol & Gambling addiction; sexual abuse; supervision of youth workers; youth worker training. She has also conducted research in Drug & Alcohol Policies in Catholic High Schools.

Shane was the Manger of the Centre for Community Welfare Training from 1993-1997 and as such has a wide range of knowledge and contacts with high quality trainers in the community services industry and has knowledge of contemporary community sector issues. Having been a social worker for many years she brings with the experience of frontline service delivery.

Harris Bromly also draws on the expertise of other professionals to ensure the best possible service is delivered to their clients.
